ANTARES ROCKET LIFT-OFF AND FLIGHT
A long exposure photograph of the Antares rocket, launched from Wallops Island, Virginia, bringing cargo to the International Space Station.
The 35 second exposure was taken from Founders Vision Overlook at Wintergreen Resort in Nelson County Virginia. Aircraft and stars trails are also prominent.
As the crow flies, the distance from me to the rocket location in the lower left is about 185 miles due east. The rocket headed in a southeast direction after launch, hence the rocket trail diminishes as the rocket ascended.
